Me, Myself, and I

Me:
My name is Jacob Genaille-Dustyhorn. I was born on July 20th 1996. I am currently finishing my third year of the Indian Teacher Education Program, and going into my fourth year with Social Studies as my major, and English as my minor.

Myself:
Growing up I was able to make school one of my greatest priorities, and one day I decided that I would like to see changes in the schooling systems, which is what encouraged me to apply for the Indian Teacher Education Program. When I was in elementary school, I had a couple of mentors that made a huge impact on my life as a young man. Having people like this in my life was something that helped me get through school, and also gave me different opportunities which I never would have thought have been possible, such as going to Rome, Italy. Growing up with people like this in my life gave me the encouragement to pursue a career in the education system. One day I would like to be one of those people that I had in my life, and be that same person to someone else.

I:
Over the years of my life, I have created a huge love for sports. Putting in years of practice with hockey, ball hockey, ball, and bowling have given me many memories and friendships. The best memories of the different sports teams are the memories of winning. I have become a city champion many times in all of the sports that I have played. But the best memories come from the sport that I love the most, and that sport is bowling. Over the past 14 years of bowling, I have become a city champion many times, I have become a provincial champion 8 times, and I have become a Canadian Nationals champion 1 time! Bowling is a sport that I thought would have never taken me anywhere, but was I wrong! I have been able to go all over the country thanks to bowling, and I would never change any of the memories that I have made.

  1. This is great, Jacob! I imagine you will be an amazing leader, given your experiences, mentors, and passion for learning! It has been so nice to work with you at this level and see how you have grown from a young man at KG to a strong, passionate, and connected leader and learner!
